Best Lawyers recognizes ECIJA as the best Firm in “Communications Law” of the Spanish market.

Furthermore, the new edition of the North American publication has highlighted 11 partners among the best in the legal market in Spain, and three of them as “Lawyer of the Year” leading their respective practice areas.

In its new 2018 edition, the American publication Best Lawyers has recognized ECIJA as the best Firm in Communications Law in the Spanish market, a practice that encompasses, in attention to the classification of the publication, specialties such as Media Law, Advertising, Privacy and Data Protection, among others.

In addition, the publication has highlighted 11 partners of the Firm among the best in the Spanish legal market in more than 10 disciplines: Hugo Écija, Emilio Prieto, Juan Salmerón, Alejandro Touriño, Jesús Yáñez, Elena Annez de Taboada, Maite Mascaró, Xavier Muñoz , Gabriel Nadal, Ricardo Oliveras and Carlos Pérez.

The quality of the legal services provided by the candidates and their professional skills are essential aspects in the nomination by clients or colleagues, as well as the assessment of the most prominent lawyers when proposing and voting the inclusion of a new lawyer in each practice area.

“Lawyer of the Year”

On their behalf, Hugo Écija, Jesús Yáñez and Xavier Muñoz, have been recognized as the best professionals in Spain in their respective specialties: Audiovisual Law and Advertising, Compliance and New Technologies.

The award, limited to one lawyer per country and practice area, goes to those lawyers who have received most votes by all the nominated candidates.

Best Lawyers, published since 1983 in the USA, is one of the reference guides of the legal sector and in its 10th edition for Spain distinguishes the best lawyers in our country in more than fifty specialties of business law practice. The results are obtained through the collection of assessments made by Spanish lawyers on the competence and worth of their colleagues through confidential interviews.
