Lorena is a partner at ECIJA Colombia in the public and regulatory areas, in which she has more than 20-years’ experience. In 2021, Lorena was made a partner at the firm MBCR, now ECIJA Colombia.
She is a lawyer specialising in agricultural and rural property law and advises public and private entities on these matters.
She has advised the competent public entities on designing and implementing public policies associated with territorial planning and agricultural law, and on their legislative and regulatory development.
Lorena is a columnist for the specialised newspaper Ambito Jurídico in agricultural and environmental law and has been a specialised consultant for the Presidency of the Republic of Colombia, the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, was Senior Manager of EY LAW, Secretary General of Banco Agrario de Colombia and an independent consultant for private sector companies
She holds an LLB in Law with a speciality in Commercial Law from the Pontifical Xavierian University, and an MA in Business Law from Francisco de Vitoria University in Madrid. Lorena won scholarships from the Carolina Foundation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain and from the US Department of State’s ‘International Leaders’ study programme.
