Daniel López, lawyer specialized in Privacy and Data Protection, has been named partner of the Firm in recognition of his excellent professional career and contribution to ECIJA.
López, who joined ECIJA in November 2014, has more than 10 years of experience in legal advice on data protection, compliance, information security and technology law. He is the Founder and Director of the Ibero-American Observatory for Data Protection, has been awarded by the Spanish Data Protection Agency for the coordination of a research work on privacy in Latin America and has been recognized as outstanding lawyer of the year in Latin America in 2016.
LLB from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Daniel is also an Associate Professor at Instituto de Empresa and a lecturer at several Spanish Universities. Member of the Spanish Association of Sanitary Law, Counselor and Coordinator of Privacy Studies of the Ibero-American Observatory of Legislation, Jurisprudence and Public Policies in the field of Information and Communication Technologies, and member of the Advisory Board of the Mexican Academy of Computer Law.
