Gustavo has more than 10 years of experience. He has advised national and international companies in matters of corporate law, energy and conflict resolution. He develops his practice in M&A processes, contracting and direct foreign investment, tenders and awards under different contractual modalities, establishment and dissolution of national and foreign companies, among others.

He is the official arbitration secretary of the Quito Chamber of Commerce and has collaborated with the International Chamber of Commerce, Chapter Ecuador, Young Arbitrariors Forum (ICC-YAF).

He works as a teacher at the University of the Americas, in the subjects of Integration Law, Comparative Legal Systems, and Alternative Conflict Resolution Methods.

He is a lawyer from the University of the Hemispheres in Quito and has a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, United States. He also has the title of Specialist in Corporate Law and Control of Company Legal Risks (COMPLIANCE) from the Carlos III University of Madrid.

During his studies in the USA, he obtained first place at Fifth LL.M. International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition at the American University Washington College of Law.

Gustavo received an honorable mention in his degree thesis entitled “Taxes on extraordinary income in the mining contract” at the University of the Hemispheres.

He has been recognized by Legal 500 Latin America as Next Generation Lawyer and as a Rising Star in the area of Energy and natural resources.
