Juan Amigó Müller joins ECIJA as real estate partner

Juan Amigó Müller joins ECIJA as real estate partner. By joining the Firm, ECIJA reinforces the areas of real estate, corporate and insolvency law.

Juan Amigó Müller, of Spanish nationality, but with German personal and professional background, has been advising and participating during his professional career in prominent real estate transactions, such as, for instance, in the sale of the emblematic Arts Hotel of Barcelona in 2001 – regarded as the largest hotel transaction in Europe of that year – to a branch of a German bank.

Juan Amigó Müller has a professional background of more than 20 years in advising companies in real estate, corporate and M&A transactions and insolvency matters. He has worked in various international firms such as Görg in Cologne, Clifford Chance in Barcelona, Berlin and Frankfurt am Main and Garrigues in Barcelona. In addition Juan was managing partner of the Rödl & Partner Barcelona office, and more recently, has been partner in Barcelona of real estate, M&A and international insolvencies in the firm Leymar & Leysters. Juan Amigó Müller is LLB in Law by the University of Barcelona, MBA by the business school of this University and has attended diverse courses in corporate and real estate law by the ESADE business school of Barcelona.

Juan Amigó Müller has a deep and wide experience in all type of transactions regarding the Spanish and the international real estate market developed in various and quite different economic scenarios, advising, for instance, clients in the acquisition and sale of real estate assets of any kind (wind and solar parks, offices and commercial premises and centers, industrial, hotels etc), in financing and refinancing real estate projects of any kind along their “in rem“ and additional guarantees, in real estate insolvencies, in the incorporation of real estate funds, in joint ventures and shareholders’ agreements for the development of real estate projects of any kind, in sale and lease back transactions, in development and construction in general, but specifically of wind and solar parks, commercial centers and logistic industrial parks, as well as their letting and later sale, in commercial lease contracts of any kind as well as hotel contracts such as management, lease and franchise hotel contracts.

Although he also works for national clients, Juan Amigó Müller works mostly for foreign clients, taking advantage of his excellent knowledge of the German and English languages.

Juan Amigó Müller joins as partner of real estate, to the team of ECIJA in Barcelona, which has already twenty lawyers, since the signing of Gabriel Nadal and his team at the beginning of the present year.
