Julio Castañeda
Julio is a partner at ECIJA Colombia in the practice areas of dispute resolution: litigation and technology, media and communications, with more than 20-years’ experience in both the public and private sectors.
For 9 years, Julio held various positions at the Competition Authority of Colombia (SIC), among others, as coordinator of the Competition Protection Group and head of the Business Integration working group.
He is an expert in competition law and telecommunications law, particularly in matters related to the radio spectrum. After several years in the public sector, in 2016 Julio was made partner of the firm MBCR, now ECIJA Colombia.
He is a postgraduate lecturer in competition law and unfair competition at Pontifical Xavierian, Rosario, Externado and Sergio Arboleda Universities in Colombia. Julio holds an LLB in Law (Licentiatura en Derecho) from Externado University of Colombia and a Specialist Certificate in European and Spanish Competition Law from the Madrid Institute of Stock Exchange Studies.
Julio speaks Spanish and English.
