BIO
Daniel López
Daniel is a partner at ECIJA’s technology, media and telecommunications and data protection and privacy area and has more than ten-years’ experience providing legal advice on data protection, compliance, information security and technology law.
He is an external expert on anti-money laundering, registered at the Executive Service of Anti-Money Laundering of the Bank of Spain. He provides advisory services as a consultant to various institutions and organisations in Latin America, and in projects to draft standards in this area.
A driving force behind the Ibero-American Data Protection Observatory’s data protection, privacy and data protection and habeas data initiative, the Spanish Data Protection Agency awarded him as coordinator and co-author of research project: “Protección de datos y habeas data: una visión desde Iberoamérica”, [Data protection and data habits: a vision from Latin America], at the XVIIIth Data Protection Awards. He holds an LLB in Law (Licentiatura en Derecho) from Complutense University of Madrid, is an associate professor at the IE Business School and teaches on the staffs of various Spanish and Ibero-American Universities.
