Edgardo Bernuy
Edgardo is a partner and leader of the Tax area at ECIJA Peru. He has extensive experience in tax and customs law, tax planning, tax and financial due diligence, tax compliance, business structuring, foreign trade operations, and tax litigation. He joined the firm in 2005. He has been a professor of tax law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru since 2013, is a member of the Peruvian Institute of Tax Research and Law – IPIDET, and a member of the International Fiscal Association – IFA (Peruvian Group).
Before joining the firm, Edgardo worked as a tax specialist at the Peruvian Tax Administration (SUNAT) and at the Peruvian Fiscal Court. He has also been part of leading law firms in Peru, such as Rubio Leguía Normand & Associates and Lazo De Romaña & Gagliuffi.
Edgardo participates as a speaker in specialized seminars on tax matters aimed at business owners.
He graduated from the Law School of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (1999), has a specialization in tax matters from the University of Lima (2004), and graduated with honors as a Master in Business Legal Advice from Carlos III University of Madrid, Spain (2008). He also has studied international taxation at the International Tax Center at Leiden University (Netherlands).
