Joana Pinto joined Antas da Cunha ECIJA in 2025 as a Partner in the Technology Transactions area.
A specialist in AI regulation and governance, technology law, technology contract negotiation, and corporate governance, she has extensive experience in providing legal counsel for complex technology transactions in both the public and private sectors, at a national and international level.
With over 25 years of professional experience, she has built a solid career in multinational technology companies, advising senior executives and aligning legal strategies with business objectives to mitigate risks. For 17 years, she led the Legal Department at Accenture Portugal, where she was part of the Executive Committee and managed legal operations in Angola and Mozambique. Previously, she held positions as In-House Counsel at Capgemini, Sonaecom, and Optimus, and served as a legal advisor to the Deputy Secretary of State to the Minister of Internal Administration in the XVI Constitutional Government.
An author of various articles on law and technology, she is a regular speaker at national and international conferences on artificial intelligence and its legal challenges. She holds a Law degree from the Portuguese Catholic University, with executive education in Financial Accounting from Harvard Business School, Organizational Leadership from AESE Business School, and a postgraduate degree in Telecommunications Law from the University of Coimbra.
She has been recognized by Legal 500, included in the GC Powerlist Portugal (2023 and 2024) and GC Powerlist Iberia (2022), and led teams awarded the Gold Award “In-House Team of the Year” by Iberian Lawyer in 2020 and 2024. She has been a member of the Bar Association since 2004, the AI Mission Group at APDSI since 2024, and the International Bar Association since 2025.
