ECIJA arrives in the Canary Islands powered by Díaz de Aguilar and Julio Pérez Abogados.

After the integration of both local Firms, specialized in Public, Corporate and Urban Planning Law, ECIJA reaches the figure of 18 offices worldwide and exceeds 300 professionals

ECIJA has announced the opening of two new offices in the Canary Islands after the integration of the firms Díaz de Aguilar and Julio Pérez Abogados, both with a long history in Public Law, Corporate, and Urban and Planning Law, which have offices in Las Palmas and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. With this double movement, the Firm aspires to become one of the main agents of the region, accompanying its clients in its operation in the islands.

Díaz de Aguilar is one of the most important local firms in the Canary Islands, and has a team of 10 professionals led by three partners: Ignacio Díaz de Aguilar, Yeray Alvarado and David Sánchez. On the other hand, Julio Pérez Abogados is directed by himself and has 4 lawyers, which adds a total of 19 professionals in the new ECIJA delegation in the archipelago.

About Ignacio Díaz de Aguilar

Founder and Chairman of the firm Díaz de Aguilar, now part of the ECIJA Group, has more than 30 years of experience in Public, Corporate and Urban Planning Law.

Ignacio has been an advisor to the Government of the Canary Islands in the creation of the Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC), in the Reform of the Statute of Autonomy of the Canary Islands and in the Law of Canary Island Tourism Renewal and Modernization. He was responsible for the drafting of the Territorial Plan of Tourism Management of Gran Canaria.

About Julio Pérez Hernández

ECIJA partner specialized in Corporate, Private and Civil law, with over 30 years of experience.

Julio is lecturer at the Universidad de La Laguna (Tenerife). He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for the Progress of Management (APD), Secretary of the ASHOTEL Foundation for Training and Employment, and member of the Governing Board of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), and other entities and non-governmental organizations.

Awarded the Great Cross of the Order of Civil Merit, the Cross of Honor of the Order of San Raimundo de Peñafort, Julio also is holder of the Spanish Red Cross Gold Medal.

About Yeray Alvarado

Partner in Corporate and Urban Planning Law, Yeray has 15 years of experience in counseling in these areas of practice.

Lecturer of Urban Law of the school of legal practices of the Bar Association of Las Palmas. He is Deputy of the Governing Board of Las Palmas Bar Association.

About David Sánchez

Specialized partner in Public and Urban Planning Law.

Lecturer in the Master in Urban Law at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Correspondent in the Palms of the Journal of Urban Planning and Environment published by Editorial Montecorvo.

David is a founding member and treasurer of the Canarian Association of Urban Law. Co-author of the book “Veinte años de Derecho Urbanístico Canario”, Ed. Montecorvo, S.A. Madrid, 2007. Co-author of “Diez años de la Ley de Ordenación del Territorio de Canarias”, edited by Tirant lo Blanc, Valencia, 2010.
