San Juan, Puerto Rico– With great enthusiasm, ECIJA SBGB celebrated today the incorporation, as members of the firm, of Anfranz N. Vázquez Bragan and Alberto J.E. Añeses Negrón and thus, strengthening, the areas of corporate law, tax law, labor & employment, entertainment, sports and intellectual property.

Fernando L. Berio Muñiz, managing partner of the firm ECIJA SBGB, expressed his satisfaction to have professionals of this caliber at the service of his clients.

“For years, our customers have been accustomed to our service in all areas of law. Both Alberto J.E. Añeses Negrón and Anfranz N. Vázquez Bragan bring with them unique experiences and values representing of what ECIJA SBGB is,” said Berio.

Anfranz N. Vázquez Bragan is part of the team that founded ECIJA SBGB in Puerto Rico and oversees the practice of Sports and Entertainment Law of the firm, in addition to being part of the Labor and Employment and Intellectual Property divisions.

Anfranz holds a master’s degree (LLM) from Columbia Law School, where she graduated as a Harlan Fiske Stone scholar. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law and holds a bachelor’s degree in Foreign Affairs, magna cum laude, from the University of Virginia. In addition, she completed the UVA’s McIntire Business Institute Program Certification.

While being a law student, she participated in an internship at the United Nations International Labor Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. In addition, she worked as a law clerk at a law firm in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Anfranz has a publication on the Law Review of the University of Puerto Rico, in its edition on Labor and Employment Law in 2017.

During 2016, she represented Puerto Rico in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court competition in Washington, DC. Anfranz is also a notary public and is admitted to the practice of law before the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico.

For his part, Añeses Negrón initially joined ECIJA SGBG during 2019 as part of the Corporate and Tax Law division. His main practice focuses on the area of Corporations, International Taxes, the Puerto Rico Tax Incentives Act, Sales and Use Taxes, Municipal and Property Taxes.  In addition, he specializes in local and federal taxation, Intellectual Property and Bankruptcy Law.

Añeses Negrón collaborates in the area of litigation in civil and commercial matters. He has filed cases with the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the Puerto Rico Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico.

Diversity in his areas of practice allows him to serve his customers in a broad, complete, and competitive way.

Prior to joining ECIJA SBGB, Añeses Negrón was an associate at a boutique law firm in Puerto Rico, concentrating in Corporate and Tax Law.

Prior to that, he worked as an Associate during the summer of 2013 at one of the largest litigation firms on the island, particularly in the areas of Intellectual Property, Tax Law, Bankruptcy, and monopolistic affairs. While studying law, he worked as a law clerk at different firms.

He is the author of countless articles and publications, including: The Four-Legged Bird that Barks and has a Tail: The “New” Puerto Rico Inter Vivos Trust, Another Type of Business Organization?
