ECIJA Mexico, nominated for Best Law Firm in Diversity

The Americas Women in Business Law 2022 awards have placed ECIJA among the best firms in favor of diversity in the Latin American market, nominating it in 5 categories.

The Women in Business Law Awards, one of the most recognized awards for diversity in the legal sector, has published the 2022 finalists for its 11th edition in the Americas, placing the law firm ECIJA Mexico as one of the country’s benchmark firms for diversity.

ECIJA has demonstrated its global commitment to diversity at all levels where it has a presence and, as a result, has been nominated for Best International Firm in Latin America. Specifically, ECIJA has been nominated for the categories of Gender Diversity, Women in Business Law and Best Latin American Practice. Furthermore, ECIJA in Ecuador has also received another nomination for best firm in the Andean country.

These awards, organized by the prestigious European publishing group Euromoney Legal Media Group, are given to law firms that have demonstrated outstanding achievements in supporting the development of women in the legal profession, as well as in the implementation of innovative work-life balance programs that allow women to pursue a professional career. ECIJA Mexico has a long track record in these types of programs in favor of women. In other regards, the efforts for the development of networks, groups or events focused on gender diversity are also highlighted.

The nominations recognize ECIJA‘s national and international efforts to achieve a majority (53.1%) of women in its global workforce, its fully inclusive culture, its Global Diversity Program, as well as the recently launched internal support group initiative called “Affinity Groups”.

For Ricardo Chacón, managing partner of ECIJA Mexico: “It is an honor to be nominated as the best firm in Mexico in favor of diversity. At ECIJA Mexico, we have always been strongly committed to women and diversity, not only by implementing policies that help achieve gender equality in the Firm, but also in advising our clients on gender equality, diversity and human rights. Undoubtedly, being nominated and being finalists in these awards along with internationally renowned firms, is a great recognition of our work and confirms that we are on the right track as the best Firm in Mexico and Ibero-America.”
