ECIJA awarded best IP/IT/DP and most innovative law firm in the Expansion Awards
The firm has won in two of the ten categories of the Expansion Awards, being recognized as best Firm in the Spanish market in Intellectual Property, Information Technology and Data Protection, and also awarded as most innovative law firm in the sector.
Last Thursday June 23, Expansion celebrated at the Royal Theatre the First Edition of the Legal Expansion Awards for Excellence in Business Law in collaboration with Banco Santander, Instituto de Empresa , Lefebvre – El Derecho and Signium, with a jury composed of the main law firms managing partners and executives of multinational companies with presence in our country .
During the ceremony, ECIJA was awarded in the following categories:
- Best IP / IT / Data Protection Law Firm in the Spanish Market: ECIJA was the winner in this category among the five finalists firms: Baker & McKenzie , Bird & Bird , Elzaburu and Gomez Acebo y Pombo. The jury responsible for the ratings has taken into account not only the volume of transactions, but also its importance and weight in the sector, as well as the complexity of the matters discussed and defending the interests of their clients not only on national territory, but also before international organizations, selecting ECIJA among the top 5 firms in this category.
- Most Innovative Law Firm: ECIJA was recognized as the most innovative law firm in the legal sector in Spain, along with Ontier with equal same number of votes, against Allen & Overy , Clifford Chance and PwC Tax & Legal . The criteria taken into account for this recognition has been the creation of new legal services, innovation in the existing practice areas, design and implementation of corporate strategies, advanced management techniques, the structure of the office, the operation of external procedures, selection and human resources processes, marketing and internationalization strategies and pro bono activities.
During an emotional speech, Hugo Écija, founder and CEO of ECIJA, said he could not believe the triumph of the Firm obtaining two of the most important awards in the legal sector. Thrilled to remember the values of work, effort and integrity that his father, a taxi driver, instilled during his childhood, he could not hold back the tears when he dedicated him the award.
