María Antonieta is a partner in the Corporate/M&A, Real Estate, Dispute Resolution: Litigation and Arbitration and Taxation practice areas of ECIJA Nicaragua.
María Antonieta has more than twenty-five-years’ professional experience in civil, commercial, banking and financial law. She has provided legal advice to international financial bodies, banks and other financial institutions, national and foreign investors, commercial companies and non-governmental bodies in Nicaragua.
She has also coordinated teams of consultants in charge of preparing and reviewing draft bills and regulations on commercial matters and comparative studies and legal advice on regional projects in Central America.
She is an arbitrator of the Mediation and Arbitration Centre of the Chamber of Commerce and Services, and national arbitrator before the Inter-American Commercial Arbitration Commission (CIAC).
She obtained a diploma in Mediation and Arbitration from the American University, a postgraduate degree in Private International Law in International Commercial Procurement from the University of Salamanca, an MA in Political Sciences from the London School of Economics, and an LLB in Law (Licentiatura en Derecho) from Central American University.
