The Firm has come first in two of the twelve categories of this II Edition of the Expansión Awards, being chosen as the best Firm in Spain for Intellectual Property, Information Technology and Data Protection, and also awarded for its “Anticitera” software tool, as the most innovative project of the year.

Last Thursday June 7th, Expansión celebrated the III Edition of the Legal Expansion Awards for Excellence in Business Law, in collaboration with Banco Santander, IE Business School, Lefebvre-El Derecho and Signium.

As a result of the vote of the 46 members of the jury (managing partners of the main law firms in Spain and General Counsels of the main IBEX35 companies), ECIJA was the winner in the following categories:

  • Best IT / IP / Data Protection Law Firm in the Spanish Market. The Firm obtained this recognition by being chosen over the rest of the finalist law firms: Baker & McKenzie, Bird & Bird, Cuatrecasas, Elzaburu, Garrigues, Gómez Acebo, Pons IP and Uría Menéndez. The jury responsible for voting took into account not only the volume of operations carried out by ECIJA during the year, but also its importance and specific weight in the sector, the quality of its team work, as well as the complexity of the matters dealt with and the defense of clients’ interests not only in national territory, but also before international organizations.
  • Most Innovative Project. ECIJA won the award for the Most Innovative project in Spain for the development of its technological solution “Anticitera”, through which ECIJA has radically changed its work processes, moving from traditional documentary production to computer programming of “scripts and add-ons “. The initiative allows lawyers to work on programmable documents that propose intelligent content, reduce human error and optimize the quality of deliverables and response times, in search of legal excellence. The finalist law firms in this category were Baker McKenzie, BDO Abogados, EY Abogados, KPMG Abogados, PwC Abogados, RCD, Reclamador and Roca Junyent.
